Produced in 1979, this limited edition world clock was a joint production of the Royal Geographical Society & Franklin Mint, manufactured by the renowned Swiss clockmaker Imhof. It is a gilt-bronze mechanical mantel clock with a solid wood black lacquer base. The movement is housed within a solid brass cylindrical body, topped with a 24-hour silver dial and scale, allowing for instant checking of current time in various time zones around the world. A globe model sits at the very top. It is spring-driven, keeps accurate time, and is a collectible and very rare timepiece. Due to its age, it shows normal signs of historical use.
